As the new year approaches, we want to encourage you to sign up for our Wellness Program. This program provides the best preventive care your horse at a great value.

        * Enrollment runs from December 1, 2011 to April 15, 2012

 

Option 1- Designed for horses that are rarely exposed to new horses.  One Visit

Yearly wellness exam with consultation about nutrition and parasite control. Yearly vaccines, two fecal egg counts, a dental exam with sedation and equilibration.  We recommend late spring to provide this program.

 

Option 2 - Designed for the traveling athlete working seasonally. Two Visits

Covers the needs of most horses.  Twice yearly wellness exam with consultation about nutrition, soundness and parasite control. Biannual vaccines, coggins test,three fecal egg counts, a dental exam with sedation and equilibration and a complete blood profile with analysis is provided.

 

Option 3- Designed for the athlete that travels year round.  Three Visits

Provides the optimum preventative care for your horse.  Three wellness exams with consultation about nutrition, soundness and parasite control. Vaccines, coggins test, three fecal egg counts, a dental exam with sedation and equilibration and a complete blood profile with analysis is provided. In addition, soundness jog and body palpation.

1.  Wellness examination -  Full physical examination, oral examination, and assessment of overall body condition & health.

2.  Immunizations – Eastern and Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, West Nile, Potomac Horse Fever, Influenza, Rhinopneumonitis, Rabies, Strangles, Botulism

3.  Coggins Test – Blood sample drawn, digital documentation with digital photographs-saved year to year.

4.  Annual bloodwork - Full complete blood count and chemistry panel evaluating organ function.

5.  Quantitative Fecal Examination to determine fecal egg counts for improved strategic de-worming.

6.  Dental Care - Full oral examination with sedation for motorized equilibration (floatation)

7.  Soundness Examinations – An exam of horse trotting to determine if secondary lameness exam is required.

8.  Nutritional Consult – Forage sample taken to evaluate nutrient profile and recommendations provided.  Consults can be provided four times a year as your pasture and hay change in quality and quantity.   

9.  Soundness Jog - Watching the horse trot for baseline soundness.  Does not include flexions.
